The Town of Tecumseh is a proud participant in the Canada 150 Mural Mosaic project!

In celebration of Canada’s 150 years, a mural is being created amongst all provinces and territories.

The Canada Mosaic 150 team of artists and facilitators came and worked with the Town and members of the community on June 19 and 20, 2017, to create an ultimate painting event.  Every tile painted was 4 inches x 4 inches in size, creating a unified community mural.

Town Council was joined by Percy Hatfield, MPP, as well as other members from the community, including students from the following local schools, in painting the tiles:

D.M. Eagle Public School
École secondaire cathlique l'Essor
École elementaire catholique Saint-Antoine
École elementaire catholique Sainte Marguerite d'Youville
St. Mary Catholic Elementary School
St. Pius X Catholic Elementary School
Al-Hijra Mosque
Lakeview Montessori School
Tecumseh Vista Elementary School
Tecumseh Vista Secondary School
A.V. Graham Public School
St. André French Immersion Catholic Elementary School

Their outstanding artistic talents are captured in the tiles and when put together created a mural that showcases Tecumseh beautifully!

The completed mural was unveiled at the June 27 Regular Meeting of Council.

The community mural will reside in the Town to commemorate Canada’s 150 years and the pride of our Town and will serve as a legacy for decades!
