Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program
The TOWN OF TECUMSEH (Town), the MINISTRY OF THE ENVIRONMENT (MOE) and the ESSEX REGION CONSERVATION AUTHORITY (ERCA) are offering a Foundation Drain Disconnection Subsidy and a Downspout Disconnection Subsidy, to residents to help reduce the risk of basement flooding.
FOUNDATION DRAIN DISCONNECTION SUBSIDY: The Town is offering a financial subsidy of up to 50% of the cost to residents in Tecumseh to disconnect foundation drains from the sanitary sewer, to a maximum of $1,060. This subsidy will be made available retroactively to June 6, 2010.
In addition, the MOE, through the Ontario Drinking Water Stewardship Program (ODWSP), is offering a financial subsidy of up to 80% of the cost to residents of Tecumseh to disconnect foundation drains from the sanitary sewer, to a maximum of $2,225 per household. The MOE subsidy will be made available retroactively to January 1, 2012 and until December 31, 2012.
DOWNSPOUT DISCONNECTION SUBSIDY: The MOE is offering residents up to $300 per household for disconnecting downspouts from the storm or sanitary drains. This subsidy will be made available retroactively to January 1, 2012 and until December 31, 2012.
