NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATION CENTRE
SANITARY SEWER ASSESSMENT AND
BASEMENT FLOODING
As a result of significant rainfall events, basement flooding has been experienced by residents of the Town of Tecumseh. The properties primarily affected are those located north of County Road 22.
The Town retained Dillon Consulting Limited to develop recommendations that would serve to manage and reduce the risk of future incidents of basement flooding. The report titled “Town of Tecumseh Sanitary Sewer Assessment Report” prepared by Dillon Consulting Limited was presented to Council in May, 2011. The Report contained recommendations on improvements to reduce extraneous flows, partnering with homeowners to manage risk; assessing and managing public infrastructure and storm drainage improvements.
The Town will be holding a Public Information Centre (PIC) to present the recommendations arising out of the Dillon Report and to inform residents on what the Town has been doing and is planning to do, in addition to what residents can do to manage flooding risks.
The PIC will commence with a presentation followed by an open house with displays available for walk-through during the times noted. Staff from the Town will be available to answer questions. The schedule for the PIC is:
DATE: Thursday, November 10, 2011
TIME: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm; and
6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
LOCATION: Tecumseh Town Hall
