2010 Olympic Torch Relay
OLYMPIC TORCH RUN ROUTE
On December 24, 2009 the Olympic torch will make its way down Lesperance Road departing at Clapp Street at 6:35 a.m. and travel south to Renaud Street. The torch will stop for approximately 2 minutes in front of Town Hall, next to our newly constructed Inukshuk. Come out and help us celebrate and show everyone our Town of Tecumseh spirit. What a magnificent once in a life time event!
The first 200 children at Town Hall will receive a Tecumseh toque or a pair of red "Olympic" mittens. Come help us celebrate our community!
In honour of this spectacular event, the Town of Tecumseh, the Royal Bank of Canada-Manning Road, along with various wonderful community groups, will be hosting a Christmas Eve morning full of family fun and activites at the Tecumseh Arena. Events include:
7:30 am - 8:30 am Pancake Breakfast - $2.00/person (children under 5 are free)
9:00 am - 9:30 am Ice Show/Hockey Relay (by Tecumseh Figure Skating Club and Tecumseh Minor Hockey)
9:30 am - 10:00 am Take A Shot At The Mayor (donations of can goods required to participate in this event)
10:00 am - Noon Free Skate sponsored by the Royal Bank of Canada
Colouring Contest (see attached sheets) - Contest end date is December 22, 2009. Please ensure your coloured sheets with name, phone and address are returned to Town Hall (attention Lise Peterson) or to the Tecumseh Arena.
There will also be complimentary cake and hot chocolate for everyone!
