Joe Bachetti


Joe Bachetti was elected  Deputy Mayor for the Town of Tecumseh in 2014 after representing Ward 3 as a municipal councillor since 1994. Joe is a long time resident of Tecumseh and resides at 1918 Corbi Lane with his wife Brenda (teacher at St. Pius X School) and three daughters, Daniela, Sabrina and Julia. He is a graduate from the University of Windsor with a B.A., B.Ed degrees with majors in Business, French and Education. He is an elementary school principal for the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board.

He wants to continue to work collaboratively with council and administration in making Tecumseh the best place to live and raise a family by maintaining affordable taxes, planned development, and keeping our neighbourhoods safe and clean.

Joe Bachetti listens to and is for the people.  He will continue to put Tecumseh first while serving as your Deputy Mayor.

Important Issues for 2015-2018

  • Explore the feasibility of expanding our recreational services by building an indoor walking track and artificial turf
  • Advocate to reopen closed neighbourhood schools such as a French immersion site or utilize as a community centre for local organizations
  • Important to improve our road systems and sewage capacity to alleviate traffic congestion
  • Re-construction of Arlington Road
  • Need to revitalize our Main Street corridor by providing incentives to land owners to improve and beautify their properties
  • Encourage a Center of Excellence, Innovation and Entrepreneurship School on the former St. Anne High School Site
  • Safe, clean, drinking water for ALL residents, need to develop a fair rural water main policy
  • Foster regional cooperation to add a transit bus service to link routes in our region which allows easy access for students, seniors and people with special needs a necessary mode of transportation
  • Provide free wifi hotspots to our active parks
  • Support more affordable homes especially for seniors on fixed incomes that want to stay and live in Tecumseh
  • Sidewalks/Multi-Use Lanes - need to identify and construct more sidewalks for pedestrian safety---Safe School Walk Zones
  • Council needs to appoint more citizens to their advisory committees/boards and less politicians in order to engage the public
