Joe Bachetti

Profile

This is Councillor Joe Bachetti’s 7th term on municipal council representing Ward 3. He was first elected in 1994 as Councillor for Sandwich South Township and then acclaimed in 1997. During amalgamation, Councillor Bachetti was once again acclaimed in 1999 as Councillor for the newly formed Town of Tecumseh and again in 2000. In 2003, Councillor Bachetti was elected and acclaimed in 2006 and 2010.  He is looking forward to working collaboratively with Council and Administration in making Tecumseh the best place to raise a family!

Joe is a long time resident of Tecumseh and now resides at 1918 Corbi Lane with his wife Brenda, and their three daughters, Daniela, Sabrina, and Julia. He is a graduate from the University of Windsor with a B.A., B.Ed degrees and is an Elementary School Principal for the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board.

Important Issues for 2011-2014

  • Completion of Parks Master Plan to include new waterfront park

  • Utilize newly created McAuliffe Park Woodlot trail for special events 
  • Encourage our youth to speak out on various municipal issues by creating a “Youth Council” so they have a voice at the table
  • Establish a steering committee with community involvement for a new skateboard park
  • Revitalize the downtown core with urban and cultural planning
  • Provide recreational programming for youth and seniors utilizing community 'hub' locations
  • Improve pedestrian and bike trails along Lesperance/Intersection corridor
  • Bring back the Santa Claus Parade to kick off the Christmas Season
