Open Burning

Open burning in Tecumseh requires a permit if an open air fire (fire pit, bonfire, etc.) exceeds 9 square feet in size. See bylaw 2007-041 (as amended) for all the information related to open air burning.

Permits must be applied for as per the instructions included in the open burning application. Note that full-cost recovery is in effect for burning illegally and an average fine is approximately $1330.00.

Get a permit before you burn as this is a zero-tolerance bylaw.
