2014 SWIM LESSONS
The Tecumseh Leisure Pool 2014 Summer Swim Lessons offer a variety of Program Sessions and Class Ratios to meet the needs of all schedules.
There is a swim program for all levels with a variety of lesson dates and times.
Parent and Tot - Fun quality time in the water between parent and child
Preschool - Ensure that children ages 3 to 5 years become comfortable in the water
Swimmer - Children 5 to 12 years old develop swimming strokes and skills
Swimmer H4O - Smaller class ratio for children ages 5 to 12 years
Canadian Swim Patrol - Rookie/Ranger/Start (Swimmer 7, 8 & 9)
Swim Team - Learn proper strokes and compete in swim meets
Leadership Training - Advanced aquatic training - Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, and Bronze Cross
National Lifeguard Service - Learn the skills to become a lifeguard
Adult Swimming Lessons - Learn to overcome the fear of the water by learning stroke techniques, breath control and floating
Aquafit - The benefits of aerobics without the stress on your joints
*** Please refer to the Lifesaving Society Swim Chart to ensure that your child is registered in the correct swim program.
Private Swimming Lessons - Private lessons are an excellent way to obtain one on one time with a certified swim instructor. Whether it's minor stroke correction or if you feel this teaching environment would be more beneficial, Private Swim Lessons meet the needs of any individual. Semi-private lessons are also available for those participating within one level of each other.
Registration - Registration for Tecumseh Leisure Pool Swim Lessons will be accepted in person or over the phone at the Tecumseh Parks and Recreation Administrative Office located at 12021 McNorton Street (Tecumseh Arena) starting on Monday, May 11, 2015. To assist in the registration process, please complete a Registration Form.
Weather Policy and Pool Closures
The Tecumseh Leisure Pool may be required to close due to mechanical problems, inclement weather, fouling, or other incidents. The Tecumseh Leisure Pool is an outdoor recreational facility and therefore is subject to weather conditions. For the safety of our facility users and staff, the Tecumseh Leisure Pool will monitor weather conditions daily and may be required to adjust the pool schedule accordingly. In the event of thunder and/or ligntening, the facility will be closed for a minimum of 30 minutes from the last sighting/hearing.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances:
- Dry land lessons may be held for Preschool, Swimmer and Leadership classes
- Should lessons need to be cancelled, the Tecumseh Leisure Pool staff will make every to contact the particpants(s)
- No refunds are issued due to unscheduled pool closures due to weather, mechanical problems, fouling, or other incidents
