Urban Poling

Turn your walk into a full body workout.  Urban Poling (also known as Nordic walking), is basically cross-country skiing without the skis.  It helps tone muscles while burning calories and helps to increase your posture.   The Tecumseh Parks and Recreation Department offers free use of urban poles at Lacasse Park and Lakewood Park.  CLICK HERE for details.

Community Health and Fitness Programs:

The programs listed below are hosted at one of the Town of Tecumseh recreational facilities.  Registration for the programs below are done directly with the program instructor.

Zumba Fitness with Colleen St. Pierre - This exhilarating, easy-to-follow, calorie-burning workout is available for ages 13 and up and all fitness levels.  Join Colleen for an aerobic dance-fitness program performed to energetic music.  Your first class is FREE!  Zumba Toning and Zumba Sentao are also available to take your workout to the next level.  For more information, email Colleen at or call 519-971-1471.

Yoga / Meditation - Free meditation classes, provided by Sahaja Yoga International, a non-profit, volunteer organization whose members contribute their time out of the desire to share the practices and teachings which they have found to be beneficial in their own lives.  Learn to establish the state of meditation through the regular awakening of your own Kundalini.  No registration required, just drop in.  For more information, visit , email or call 519-564-7990.
