Please Note: Vouchers will be issued by appointment only. Walk in for Vouchers will not be accepted. The Town of Tecumseh, in partnership with local veterinary hospitals/clinics, provides a Cat Spay or Neuter Voucher Program to control the cat population in the Town. You have to be a resident of the Town of Tecumseh to participate. There are two types of vouchers:
Vouchers are valued at $50.00 each. Any costs in excess of $50 for spay or neuter surgeries are the responsibility of the owner or caregiver. Vouchers expire on December 1, 2020. |
Definitions |
Feral Cat A feral cat is the offspring of lost or abandoned pet cats or other feral cats that are not spayed or neutered. Feral cats are not accustomed to contact with people and are typically too fearful and wild to be handled. They do not easily adapt or may never adapt to living as pets in close contact with people. Owned cat An owned cat means cats that are owned by a household and receive food, shelter and care from the members of a household. |
Caregiver of Feral Cat - Spay or Neuter Voucher Program |
A maximum of five (5) feral cat spay or neuter voucher(s) are available per caregiver of feral cats. To be eligible to receive spay or neuter vouchers for feral cats, applicants must complete an application form and provide proof that:

Low Income Families - Owned Cat Spay or Neuter Voucher Program |
A maximum of three (3) owned cat spay or neuter voucher(s) are available per household for eligible low-income families. Low-income families may also apply for a maximum of five (5) spay or neuter voucher(s) under the Feral Cat Spay or Neuter Program. To be eligible to receive spay or neuter vouchers, applicants must complete an application form and provide proof that:
