Cats

The Town of Tecumseh, in partnership with local veterinary hospitals/clinics, is pleased to once again provide its Cat Spay and Neuter Voucher Program (Program) beginning Friday, March 13, 2020. This Program is available to residents of the Town of Tecumseh, only.

“My Council colleagues continue to support this program,” said Gary McNamara, Mayor of Tecumseh. “For over five years we have provided these vouchers to help reduce the number of feral cats in the Town. We are pleased with the success and popularity of the program and commend those who take the time to catch feral cats and take them in to be spayed or neutered.”

In an effort to reduce the number of feral cats, 92 Vouchers will be issued to sterilize feral cats. The Vouchers are valued at $50 each.

Vouchers for owned cats are reserved for low-income families. A declaration of income will be required. A maximum of three (3) Vouchers will be issued where the cats are owned (3 available). For feral cat caregivers, a maximum of five (5) Vouchers will be issued (92 available), with no income restrictions.

Applications for the 2020 Cat Spay and Neuter Voucher Program will be available at the Tecumseh Town Hall during regular office hours, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, or on the Town’s website. Vouchers are issued on a first come, first serve basis. Please note that during renovations to Tecumseh Town Hall, the temporary entrance is off McNorton Street.

Further Program details can be found on the Town’s website, or by contacting Ext. 143.
