The Town of Tecumseh is excited to announce the inaugural “Tecumseh Corn Fest Open” Disc Golf Tournament hosted in partnership with the Windsor Essex Disc Golf Association on Saturday, August 24 2019 and Sunday, August 25, 2019.
The Tournament will be held at the Disc Golf Course at Lakewood Park located at 13451 Riverside Drive and will include Amateur, Recreational and Advanced level players. A portion of the proceeds raised by the tournament will be going to support the Alzheimer’s Society of Windsor Essex.

“Disc Golf is played much like traditional golf but instead of a ball and clubs, players use a flying disc. The disc golf course here in Tecumseh is allowing residents and visitors to our community to try a new sport that people of all skills and ability can enjoy.” says Mayor Gary McNamara.

The Windsor Essex Disc Golf Association will also be at the Tecumseh Corn Festival on Friday, August 23, 2019 to provide demonstrations to festival visitors.

“We are excited to be a part of the Tecumseh Corn Festival and to introduce the game of disc golf to festival visitors,” said Scott White, Windsor Essex Disc Golf Association Founding Member. “The Tecumseh Corn Fest Open Disc Golf Tournament is a great way to expand the reach of the Tecumseh Corn Festival to other areas of the community. The tournament players will receive some door prizes and awards that will include tickets for them to attend the Tecumseh Corn Festival the weekend of August 23 to 25.”

Festival and Events Ontario named the Tecumseh Corn Festival one of the Top 100 Festivals in Ontario for the 15th consecutive year. This year’s event is three days of spectacular family entertainment including: a vendor village filled with a variety of Arts & Crafts; food booths; All Canadian Entertainment Midway; and, the renowned Corn Booth featuring “Tonnes & Tonnes” of Hot Buttered Corn on the Cob from Tecumseh’s own Bonduelle and prepared by the volunteers of the Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach.
