WHY ARE HYDRANTS FLUSHED? Periodically, you will see Town of Tecumseh Water staff releasing water from hydrants.  Hydrant flushing is necessary to test the hydrants to make sure adequate flow and pressure is available.  Flushing is also done to remove sediment from the pipes in order to maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution system. The new replacement equipment has been ordered and is scheduled to be installed the last week of May weather permitting. It is hoped the playground will be open the first week of June. Further updates will be provided once the equipment arrives, crews are scheduled and weather impacts are known. Follow us for all updates.

At last night’s Regular Meeting of Council, By-Law 2018-19 was adopted which will see changes to the Building By-Law and Permit Fee and includes a one-year moratorium on commercial building and hotel building permit fees.
