On July 19th 2018 in Lacasse Park, members of Council cut the ribbon to officially re-open the playground equipment. The equipment was damaged in October 2017 by a fire. The installation of new playground equipment was completed in June.

Tecumseh Fire & Rescue Services has implemented a burn ban until further notice. The lack of rainfall has led to increased dry conditions which are ideal for rapid fire spread. The burn ban applies to all areas of Town and no permits will be issued until further notice

The Town of Tecumseh has awarded a contract to Erie Treasures Custom Chainsaw Art to carve the likeness of Antoine de Lamothe Cadillac and René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de LaSalle in Lakewood Park.
