Flags Lowered to Half-Mast in Honour of the National Day of Mourning
Today, we observe the National Day of Mourning, a solemn occasion dedicated to remembering and honouring those who have lost their lives, suffered injuries, or experienced illness as a result of workplace tragedies.
In recognition of this important day, flags have been lowered to half-mast at Tecumseh Town Hall. This symbolic gesture serves as a collective tribute to the countless individuals who have been affected by workplace incidents and as a visible reminder of the importance of workplace safety.
First recognized in Canada on April 28, 1991, the National Day of Mourning is now observed nationwide, with ceremonies held to commemorate the lives lost and to support the families, friends, and colleagues left behind.
