National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Tecumseh

ORANGE SHIRT DAY MEMORIAL WALK

The Town is hosting an Orange Shirt Day Memorial Walk on Tuesday September 29th to honour and remember all residential school survivors. Patricia Shawnoo from the Tecumtha Ogitchada Society will provide a keynote message and lead the gathering.  All are welcome to participate and registration is not required.

Location: Lakewood Park South (13451 Riverside Dr E)⁠

Time: 10:00 am

TOWN HALL          

Town of Tecumseh offices will be closed on Wednesday, September 30th to reflect on the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation. 

Payments may be dropped off at Town Hall using the secure drop box located beside the main entrance door. Please ensure information on the envelope is clearly outlined (e.g. name, address, tax roll number, application and/or other identifying details to assist staff).

As an alternative, the Town’s website also offers online services and payments www.tecumseh.ca/taxes

TECUMSEH TRANSIT

Tecumseh Transit is running on Wednesday, September 30^th. 

Information on the Town’s transit service is available on the Town’s website www.tecumseh.ca/transit.

TECUMSEH ARENA & RECREATION COMPLEX

The Community and Recreation Services department offices will be closed on Wednesday, September 30th for the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation.  All programing and rentals are running as scheduled.

RECYCLING AND YARD WASTE COLLECTION

There are no changes to the regularly scheduled garbage, recycling, and yard waste collections. Please refer to your 2026 Waste Collection Calendar for more information.
