EXPLANATORY NOTE
Comprehensive Zoning By-law 2026-050 replaces the three existing Zoning By-laws pertaining to the three former municipalities (former Town of Tecumseh, former Village of St. Clair Beach, and former Township of Sandwich South) that form the current Town of Tecumseh. No key map is provided as Zoning By-law 2026-050 applies to the entirety of the Town.
The new Comprehensive Zoning By-law, passed under Section 34 of the Planning Act, is the Town’s primary tool to regulate the use of all land in the Town of Tecumseh. It divides land into various zone categories such as residential, commercial, and business park and establishes what uses are permitted and where buildings and structures can be located on a property. It also includes a range of regulations including, but not limited to, minimum lot frontage and area, minimum yard depths/widths, maximum lot coverage and building height, minimum number of parking spaces, flood prone area regulations and home occupation regulations.
Effect of Public Input on Council’s Decision
In accordance with the Planning Act, please note that the effect of public input on Council’s decision on this application is described in the Public Meeting Minutes from the March 24, 2026 and May 26, 2026 Public Meetings and Administrative Reports DS-2025-27, DS-2026-09, DS-2026-10, DS-2026-20 and LCS-2026-23.
