Public Notice of Pesticide Use this Fall 2026

The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh intends to control invasive phragmites (European Common Reed – Phragmites Australis) within the roadside ditches and Municipal Drains along the following rural roadsides within the Full Road Sections of:

• South Talbot Road (Between Holden Road and Walker Road [County Road 11])
• Walker Road [County Road 11] (Between South Talbot Road and County Road 8)
• County Road 8 (Between Walker Road [County Road 11] and Holden Road)
• Holden Road (Between South Talbot Road and County Road 8)

WITHIN THE TOWN OF TECUMSEH

The following pesticides registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada) will be used:

• Habitat Aqua Herbicide (Registration No. 32374), which contains the active ingredients Imazapyr (present as isopropylamine salt) and,
• VisionMAX Silviculture Herbicide (Registration No. 27736), which contains the active ingredient glyphosate (present as potassium salt) and,
• MSO Methylated seed oil (Registration No. 33193), which contains the active ingredient of a surfactant blend and,
• Aqua Surf (Registration No. 32152), which contains the active ingredient of a surfactant blend.

The program will commence on October 22, 2026 (weather permitting) and end on November 30, 2026.

The pesticide use will be carried out under the public works exception to the cosmetic pesticide ban, under paragraph 4 of subsection 7.1(2) of the Pesticides Act, for the promotion of health and safety.
