Tecumseh Lowers Flags in Observance of the National Day of Mourning

Today, the Town has lowered flags to half-mast in observance of the National Day of Mourning—to remember the workers who were injured, became ill, or lost their lives as a result of a workplace tragedy, and to reaffirm our shared commitment to worker health and safety in the workplace.

First recognized in Canada on April 28, 1991, the National Day of Mourning is observed nationwide and across 100 countries, with ceremonies held to commemorate the lives lost and to support the families, friends, and colleagues left behind. Tecumseh is helping to spread awareness, joining other municipalities across the province, the Government of Ontario, and the Government of Canada.
