Tecumseh Lowers Flags to Half-mast in Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism
Canada observes National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism every June 23—the same day as the tragic bombing of Air India Flight 182 that departed from Canada and was headed to the United Kingdom in 1985, killing 329 innocent people, including 280 Canadians. This year marks the 41st anniversary of the attack, which remains the deadliest in Canadian history.
On this solemn day, Canadians honour those who were injured or have lost their lives to terrorism and condemn all forms of terrorism in Canada and abroad.
As a sign of respect and remembrance, the Town of Tecumseh will lower flags to half-mast at Town Hall and Fire Stations 1 & 2 on Tuesday, June 23.
