Tecumseh Recognizes the 30th Anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day
This Sunday, June 21, marks the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day—celebrating the traditions, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.
On Friday, June 16, the Town of Tecumseh will raise the Every Child Matters flag at Town Hall to honour and recognize the Indigenous communities with whom we share the lands of the Great Lakes region, and to reaffirm our commitment to moving forward with respect and reconciliation.
The flag will remain on display over the weekend.
More information about National Indigenous Peoples Day can found on the Government of Canada’s website.
