The police contract is administered by the The Essex County OPP Detachment Board (Formerly Police Services Board).

Project Safe Trade

Sign showing Internet Purchase Exchange ZoneTwo parking spots at the Tecumseh OPP Detachment are set aside as a “safe zone” for residents to exchange property and money from online transactions. Project Safe Trade got its start in Tecumseh and is now a province-wide initiative of the OPP.

Collision reporting

If you are involved in a minor collision that meets certain conditions, you can report it to the Collision Reporting Centre at the Essex County OPP Detachment. It is located at 1219 Hicks Road (off Manning Road), Essex, telephone 519-723-2491. The hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8 am to 4 pm.

Fees and fines

  • Registering your house alarm is required to prevent fines for false alarms. The completed Alarm Registration Form, along with payment, can be dropped off or mailed to the Town of Tecumseh Town Hall, located at 917 Lesperance Road, Tecumseh, ON, N8N 1W8.
  • You can pay your parking fines at the Town of Tecumseh Town Hall using cash, debit or credit card. Tickets other than parking can be paid online at www.paytickets.ca for a nominal fee.

Tecumseh Community Policing Committee

The Tecumseh Community Policing Committee is made up of local civilian volunteers and members of the OPP. The Committee acts as a link between the police and the community to identify and resolve public issues, as well as plan events that promote community safety. If you are interested in joining, please complete and submit the application form TCPC application to the Tecumseh OPP Detachment.
