Illumination: National Disability Employment Awareness

Town Hall will be illuminated purple and blue on October 16 in observance of National Disability Employment Awareness.

Light It Up! For NDEAM® is a national event led by the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN) that takes place each October during National Disability Employment Awareness Month. On this night, landmarks across Canada are illuminated in purple and blue to recognize the contributions of people with disabilities in workplaces and communities. 

The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of disability-inclusive hiring and to spark meaningful conversations about accessibility and inclusion. 

In 2024, over 800 locations in nearly 200 communities participated, highlighting its growing national impact. NDEAM also encourages employers to review their hiring practices and create environments where people of all abilities can thrive. By joining Light It Up! For NDEAM, Tecumseh demonstrates its commitment to fostering inclusive and equitable employment for all.
