Indigenous Veterans Day

On November 8, the Town of Tecumseh lowers flags to half-mast at municipal facilities in honour of Indigenous Veterans Day.

This day is dedicated to recognizing and commemorating the important contributions, sacrifices, and bravery of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis veterans, who served Canada in times of war, military conflict, and peace. Many Indigenous veterans served with distinction, often overcoming challenges and barriers in the service of our country.

The Town of Tecumseh encourages all residents to take a moment to reflect on the legacy of Indigenous veterans and their enduring role in Canada’s history.
