International Holocaust Remembrance Day

On January 27, 2026, the Town of Tecumseh will lower flags to half-mast at Town Hall in observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day.  This day honours the memory of Holocaust victims—over six million Jews who perished in organized death camps as an act of genocide perpetrated by Nazi Germany and its collaborators from 1941 to 1945.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day is an opportunity for Canadians and individuals all over the world to remember the victims, reflect on the dangers of anti-Semitism and recognize impacts of the Holocaust that are still evident generations later to prevent the repetition of such atrocities.
