National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
On Saturday, December 6, the Town of Tecumseh will lower flags to half-mast at all municipal facilities to mark the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
This day honours the memory of the 14 young women who were murdered on December 6, 1989, at École Polytechnique in Montréal, and it stands as a reminder of the ongoing need to work toward ending gender-based violence in Canada and around the world.
The Town of Tecumseh encourages all residents to reflect on the lives lost, to stand in solidarity with survivors, and to commit to building a community where everyone can live free from violence.
