Tecumseh Begins Annual Hydrant Flushing Program

Starting April 7 to July 25, 2026, Water Services staff will be flushing hydrants as part of the Town's annual flushing program.

Every year, water is released from the hydrants to improve water quality by removing sediment from the watermains to maintain water clarity and quality. The program also ensures there is adequate water flow and pressure available in the Town's water distribution system.

Residents may see slight discolouration or sedimentation in their water while staff test and clean the hydrants and watermain in their area. If this happens, run cold water through inside faucets for a few minutes until the water is clear.

If water does not run clear, wait a few minutes and run the water again. If that does not clear the water, residents should call the Town at 519-735-2184 ext. 142.
