Tecumseh Honours Canadian Soldiers in the Battle of Vimy Ridge

Today marks the National Day of Remembrance of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

Flags at all the Town of Tecumseh facilities will be flown at half-mast to honour our Canadian veterans and to remember the nearly 3,600 soldiers who lost their lives and more than 7,000 who were wounded during the Battle of Vimy Ridge from April 9 to 12, 1917 in the First World War.

The battle and overall Canadian victory at Vimy is considered a defining moment in Canada’s history—solidifying the country’s reputation as strong and effective force amongst the Allied nations.
