Town of Tecumseh Receives Community Impact Grant
Town of Tecumseh Receives Community Impact Grant from
Windsor Essex Community Foundation
Tecumseh, ON – The Town of Tecumseh is proud to announce that it has been awarded a Community Impact Grant from the Windsor Essex Community Foundation (WECF) to support increased voter turnout in the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election (Election). This funding will help advance strategies to promote community outreach and engagement with the objective to boost overall awareness of the 2026 Election and increase voter turnout.
The grant will enable the Town to enhance civic education and engagement strategies, facilitated through a variety of approaches including: use of digital media for community engagement, collaboration with community partners to address barriers for underrepresented groups and the hiring of a Voter Engagement Specialist.
“We are extremely appreciative that the Windsor Essex Community Foundation recognizes the value of increasing voter turnout,” said Robert Auger, Director of Legislative & Clerk Services. “This grant will not only make a meaningful difference for the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election, but it will support strategies to enhance civic participation and Election awareness that will benefit future generations of voters.”
The Windsor Essex Community Foundation’s Community Impact Grants are designed to strengthen communities by funding projects that create partnerships, tackle important issues, and those that will make a lasting impact on the Windsor and Essex Community. Notably, the Town took interest in the most recent grant submission cycle as one of the grant’s listed criteria was for projects that increase voter turnout in a local election.
