The Town of Tecumseh Council and Administration are pleased to congratulate Ward 1 Councillor Andrew Dowie on his election as Member of Provincial Parliament yesterday.

“On behalf of Council, I want to congratulate Andrew on his victory, and thank him for his service to the community as Councillor for Ward 1,” said Tecumseh Mayor Gary McNamara. “While we will miss his voice at the Council table, I know I speak for all when I say that we look forward to continuing to work with Andrew in his new capacity as MPP to advance the needs of our community.”

Council approved a leave of absence for Mr. Dowie from Town Council on May 10, 2022 so that he could run in the provincial election. Town Council will determine how best to fill the vacant Ward 1 seat in the near future.
