The Town of Tecumseh is pleased to let residents know that nominations will open for the 2022 municipal and school board elections on Monday, May 2, at 9 a.m.

Eligible citizens interested in running for office may file their nominations with the Town Clerk’s office during regular business hours until August 18, 2022. August 19, 2022 is the last day for filing, and nominations may be filed on that day between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. All filings are by appointment only.

Potential candidates should be aware that nomination papers must be officially filed before any contributions can be accepted to their campaign or any money can be spent on the campaign.

The 2022 municipal and school board elections will be held on Monday, October 24, 2022, for a term of office from November 15, 2022, to November 14, 2026. The offices open for nominations are:

  • Mayor
  • Deputy Mayor
  • Councillor Ward 1
  • Councillor Ward 2
  • Councillor Ward 3
  • Councillor Ward 4
  • Councillor Ward 5
  • Greater Essex County District School Board – 1 Trustee
  • Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board – 1 Trustee
  • Conseil scolaire Viamonde – 1 Trustee
  • Conseil scolaire catholique Providence
    • Wards 1, 2, 3 – 1 Trustee; and
    • Ward 4, 5 – 1 Trustee
