Stormwater Pond Alert

Tecumseh warns residents to stay away and stay off the ice on all water retention ponds.

Water Retention Ponds are designed to store water as part of Tecumseh’s stormwater management system.   Ice on these ponds cannot be trusted due to fluctuating water levels which causes different levels of ice thickness. The Town does not monitor ice thickness.

Signs have been erected at water retention ponds indicating the danger.

Tecumseh encourages residents to visit one of our many parks-and-trails for outside exercise. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic please remember to follow Public Health guidelines to:

• Keep outdoor gatherings to a maximum of 10 people
• maintain a physical distance of 2-meters from others not in the same household
• wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible and
• wash your hands frequently.
