Awards Review Committee

There are four (4) Town Awards to celebrate citizen and community efforts in the Town of Tecumseh, which awards are presented at Council every two (2) years. The role of this committee is to review award nominations and provide thoughtful recommendations to Council for consideration. The awards will be presented at a Regular Council meeting in June to honour the recipients.

The Terms of Reference of the Awards Review Committee includes:

• Serving as an advisory group by reviewing and assessing nominations for Town awards
• Recommending recipients for each award
• Advocating for and promoting the Town’s Awards Program through various public engagement efforts.

 The Awards Review Committee will be comprised of five (5) appointed members of the local community who are residents, business owners, have experience or prior experience in the non-profit sector or are community volunteers that are over the age of 18 years who wish to serve and are prepared to commit the time required for this committee. Members may not be an employee of the Town or a sitting member of Town Council.

In making appointments to this Committee, Council may give consideration to appointing members who are representative of each of the five (5) wards in Tecumseh. The term of membership will coincide with the current term of Council.

Committee members receive a $100.00 per meeting as a stipend.
