COVID-19 Update: The Windsor-Essex area will move into Stage 3 of the Provincial Framework for Reopening as of 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12. This means that recreational facilities within the Town of Tecumseh are permitted to reopen within Ontario public health guidelines and regulations. Parks and Recreation Department staff has been mobilized to ensure these facilities are safe and ready to open as soon as possible.

Starting August 12, 2020, the Disc Golf course will be modified to allow for expanded use with the re-installation of baskets.

Those using the disc golf course are reminded to provide their own equipment and wash/sanitize hands and equipment before and after play. Outdoor equipment will not be sanitized and users are encouraged to practice proper hand hygiene, keep a physical distance of 2 metres (6 ft) and wear a mask or face covering when physical distancing cannot be maintained. Signage will be posted at all outdoor facilities indicating COVID-19 safe play recommendations.

Lakewood Park Disc Golf course is the only disc golf course west of St. Thomas. Disc golf is played much like traditional golf but instead of a ball and clubs, players use a flying disc (or Frisbee). The object is to complete each hold in the fewest throws.

Use of the 18 hole course is FREE.

To learn more about Disc Golf or to participate in a league, contact the Windsor Essex Disc Golf Association or check them out on Facebook. To learn more about the sport of disc golf, visit the Professional Disc Golf Association's website.

Groups looking to host a Disc Golf Tournament are asked to contact the Tecumseh Parks and Recreation Department to reserve the park.
