COVID-19 Update: 

On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, the Town of Tecumseh received notification that some Town facilities could re-open. As a result, the Parks and Recreation Department is mobilizing to ensure these facilities are safe and ready to open as soon as possible. Restrictions on use are outlined and may be modified following meetings with sports associations related to these facilities. 

The following outdoor recreational facilities will be open for use starting on Friday, May 22:

Tennis Courts*
Pickleball Courts*
Lakewood Park Disc Golf
Tecumseh Skate Park
Tecumseh Dog Park (water fountain remains off until further notice)
Basketball Courts
Picnic Areas / Park Shelters
All Park Benches & Tables
Non-Permit-Based Sports Fields

Signage will be posted at each facility indicating COVID-19 safe play recommendations. Residents using these facilities are reminded to keep their distance from others at the facility by leaving 2 metres of space at all times. Users are to provide their own equipment and wash/sanitize hands and equipment before and after play.

The following recreational facilities remain closed: Playgrounds, Beaches, Outdoor Exercise Equipment, Tecumseh Leisure Pool, Splash Pads, Permit-Based Sports Fields, Public Washrooms, Tecumseh Recreation Complex & Arena.

 

The Tecumseh Dog Park is located at 12000 St. Jacques and provides a leash-free area for dog owners and their pets to enjoy.

The park provides a water fountain for dogs, plenty of benches to relax and enjoy the outdoors, as well as accessible paved trails. All owners attending the park are asked to help maintain the cleanliness of the park by picking up after their pets (waste bags are available onsite).

The 2nd Sunday of March through the 1st Sunday of November annually

7:00 AM to 6:00 PM
First Monday of November through the 2nd Saturday of March annually

Park Rules

  • Leash your dog before entering and exitingdog park aerial
  • Keep your dog within sight and under voice control
  • Aggressive dogs must be removed immediately
  • Pick up and remove dog excrement (waste bags provided)
  • Dog park users are subject to the Dog Owners Liability Act
  • Female dogs in heat are prohibited
  • Current dog tag required
