The majority of the urbanized area of Tecumseh is serviced by active transportation infrastructure in the form of sidewalks, bike lanes and multi-use paths. As part of the Town of Tecumseh Transportation Master Plan Update, the Town has been working with the County of Essex to add and improve connections to trails and cycling infrastructure.

In December 2020, Council authorized Administration to complete the engineering design for the Lesperance Road Multi-Use Path (County Road 22 to County Road 42) project. In accordance with this report, Dillon Consulting Limited (Dillon) was retained to complete the detailed design.

At the January 26, 2023 Special Meeting of Council, Council authorized Administration to finalize the design and tender in 2023 and proceed with construction in 2024 for the Lesperance Road Multi-Use Path, County Road 22 to County Road 42 project (Motion: SCM-04/23).

A Public Information Open House will be held to showcase the project and alignment to property owners adjacent to these improvements and interested public parties. Display boards and a roll plot will be available for viewing, providing a visual representation of the path's location throughout the project area. The open house has been scheduled as follows:

Location:  Town of Tecumseh Arena, Centre Ice Room
                       12021 McNorton St, Tecumseh
