Volunteers for Snow and Leaf Angels Program

The Town matches eligible seniors and persons with physical disabilities with volunteer snow shovellers and leaf collectors, also known as Snow and Leaf Angels. The Program is truly "the neighbourly thing to do".

It is a great way for:

  • families to volunteer together
  • high school students to complete their 40 hours of community service.

To be a volunteer, the following is required:

  • Shovel snow within 12 hours after a snowfall;
  • Provide your own snow removal equipment, if possible;
  • Complete and submit online a Volunteer Snow and Leaf Angels Program application.

The Town provides Angels with toques, and shovels, if necessary. In addition, you will be identified to the residents you support. An annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner recognizes Angels who volunteer for the Program.

Police Clearances, including a search of the Vulnerable Sector, are required, and can be obtained online at and take 4 - 6 weeks to process.  Please contact the Community Recreation Services Department at 519-735-4756, ext. 0 or email prior to completing the Police Clearance form.
